Must Do, Should Do, Could Do and more for the Week of July 29, 2024

First, a quote to start the week with:

“You can do anything, but not everything.” – David Allen

What I’m reading

I just started another Stephen King book: Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption

I’m also reading Collaboration Explained by Jean Tabaka and And There Was Light by Jon Meacham. Oh, and I’m reading Chess for Dummies because after all these years, I really want to get a better understanding of the game. Don’t judge.

The Coming Week

For the past few weeks, I’ve been posting my “Must Do, Should Do, Could Do, Won’t Do” lists to help keep myself accountable. Each Friday, I’ve been writing up a summary of how I did. I’m cutting back a bit, especially the Should Do list since I’ve struggled with that list for the past couple weeks.

Must Do

  • Finish the onboarding list for the new gig
  • Transcribe/copy all work notes into Logseq
  • Schedule something for the Tech Support meeting for August

Should Do

  • Prep for my two sessions at DevUp in August
  • Finish chapter 6 and start/finish chapters 7 and 8 in Collaboration Explained
  • Transcribe my existing Azure study notes into Logseq

Could Do

  • Start working on some data analysis for an upcoming blog post I want to write.
  • Commit some code to GitHub that only lives on my Windows machine.

Won’t Do

  • Spend time playing computer games during the week

Final Thoughts

I want to end with a question, one that I’ll be thinking about this week:

As July wraps up and August begins, what is one thing you’ll do to be more productive?
