Instead of doing this in two separate posts each week, I’m going to combine my status from last week and what I’m planning for this week.

First, a quote to start the week:

“My goal is no longer to get more done, but rather to have less to do.” – Francine Jay

How did I do for the week of July 29

Must Do

  • Finish the onboarding list for the new gig - Still working on this one.
  • Transcribe/copy all work notes into Logseq - DONE
  • Schedule something for the Tech Support meeting for August - DONE! My friend, Guy Royse, is going to talk about TDD!

Should Do

  • Prep for my two sessions at DevUp in August - Eh…gotta get on this!!
  • Finish chapter 6 and start/finish chapters 7 and 8 in Collaboration Explained - DONE! I finished 7 and 8.
  • Transcribe my existing Azure study notes into Logseq - Partial. I got caught up in adding other things to Logseq.

Could Do

  • Start working on some data analysis for an upcoming blog post I want to write. - Another week, another miss on this one.
  • Commit some code to GitHub that only lives on my Windows machine. - Another week, another…

Won’t Do

  • Spend time playing computer games during the week - I did really well with this, not even turning on my gaming PC until the work day was done!

  • I was 66% on my “Must Do” list.
  • I was 33% on my “Should Do” list.
  • I was 0% on my “Could Do” list.
  • I was 100% on my “Won’t Do” list.
  • I had an overall 44.4% completion rate.

Other Stuff

I finished “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.” It was a great book, and I was very happy to find out how closely the movie stuck to the book. Yes, the movie did add a few scenes, but nothing major was changed in the overall story. That was book 42 for the year.

Another developer joined the project, but we’re waiting for accounts to be created and access given to the things we need. We did get a task board created and entered some milestones, but we both continue to work on the onboarding tasks.

My wife, son, and I saw the fantastic Titanic exhibit at COSI here in Columbus.
